A self educated woman artist… Laura’s artistic creed is based on artwork that impacts the human soul. Her artwork is focused on people, renditions of people (real, celebrity, fictional/fantasy) integrated into your living space (residential), or business (commercial) space. She welcomes her craft with a soulful approach and always tries to articulate what you see with a visual cunning twist that reaches your inner being somehow to connect you. Laura has coined the phrase to her medium as “2 ½ Dimensioned Artwork” , it is composed of a combination of airbrushing and hand painting with acrylics on wood or a wooden like surface to create a “Removable Mural” another phrase that was created to accurately describe Laura’s work. Clyde D. Lewis (Artist)
Website: www.clydedlewis.com
Clyde D. Lewis is an artist from San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of and has worked to help sponsor the Black Cowboy Association and the Men of Color Association of TX, he is part of the Choctaw Indian Heritage of Oklahoma, and he will soon become a member of the New Braunfels, TX Art League. Clyde was raised by his grandparents as a child. His grandfather was a farmer and rancher, His great uncle cowboy on the Walkers Ranch also, so naturally Clyde’s interest in cowboys budded at a very young age. Throughout his teen years Clyde participated in team roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. After high school he went on to a career in the medical field but stayed close to his cowboy roots by working on a 3000 acre ranch, and volunteering his time every year to the San Antonio and Houston stock show and rodeo. Clyde was first taught to draw by his cousin, who is an artist and police officer of the San Antonio Police Department. After taking an interest in drawing he then went on to take classes to enhance his skill, and thus began his career as a black western artist. He began depicting scenes of cowboys, buffalo, and of bucks battling in the woods, elephants trumpeting, and elk calling. Clyde’s grandfather is a black Choctaw Indian, and Clyde himself recently participated in the Gathering of the Nations Powwow in Albuquerque, NM, so as a way of preserving the Native American history in his family he moved on to Native American pencil drawings. He also has a passion to exhibit the work of black cowboys and is currently working on a few drawings to do just that.
Clyde has showcased his work locally and his prints have been sold to buyers, not only in Texas, but as far as Kansas, South Carolina and Montana. Cowboy Up!
